New Watchtower - Can You Look Beyond Outward Appearances?
by ttdtt inhow ironic that they have asked jws to not look past - tight pants - so called "affectations" - beards - long hair - short hair - and like 1000 other meaningless and trivial things.. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-june-2017/can-you-look-beyond-outward-appearances/.

Luke 10:25-16:17
The Parable of the Good Samaritan
In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
The Parable of the Jehovah's Witnesses 2017
Don tactfully used three scriptures in an effort to reach Peter’s heart.
I don't believe this story at all! Supposedly,Don walks by Peter for 14 years and never gives him any food or clothing, doesn't bring him to a doctor, doesn't help him find shelter, doesn't call Peter's sister to see if she can help, doesn't call any city services or shelter centers,or takes him to a hospital for a mental and physical evaluation. This story is just to introduce the book, WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REALLY TEACH.

paragraph 19: Or consider 35-year-old Paul from the Zambezi Delta in Mozambique who is severely restricted by ''frozen shoulder.“Reduced mobility does not necessarily mean a reduced ministry,” he says. “I take advantage of different forms of service, such going in crocodile infested waters and lift them over my head and hold them up in the air until all of our congregation members can safely pass through and make it to our KIngdom Hall which is nearby.'' For my own encouragement, I keep a notebook with scriptures and thoughts from our publications that I can consult from time to time. I call it ‘My Crocodile Survival Notebook.’ Discouragement is temporary if we focus on Jehovah’s promises. Jehovah is always there to help us, regardless of our circumstances.” Your situation may be quite different from that of Paul. Yet, you can likely think of ways in which Jehovah has rewarded you and those around you. How good it is to reflect on how Jehovah is rewarding you at this time and how he will reward you in the future!

13 We can be sure that Jehovah appreciates every effort that we make to serve him.
Blondie's comment:They will trot out Sister Last Throes of MS who is still pioneering as something to imitate. In Jehovah Witness land, you can never do enough to satisfy the WTS. You shouldn't have any excuses since you're healthy, drive to the meetings, and have all the comforts to serve Jehovah! Look at brothers and sisters who walk 10 miles in alligator infested waters with no shoes and still make it to the meetings.
19 Or consider 70-year-old Paula in Canada who is severely restricted by spina bifida. “Reduced mobility does not necessarily mean a reduced ministry,” she says. “I take advantage of different forms of service, such as telephone and informal witnessing. For my own encouragement, I keep a notebook with scriptures and thoughts from our publications that I can consult from time to time. I call it ‘My Survival Notebook.’ Discouragement is temporary if we focus on Jehovah’s promises. Jehovah is always there to help us, regardless of our circumstances.” Your situation may be quite different from that of Bianca or of Paula. Yet, you can likely think of ways in which Jehovah has rewarded you and those around you. How good it is to reflect on how Jehovah is rewarding you at this time and how he will reward you in the future!
“Reduced mobility does not necessarily mean a reduced ministry,” she says.
My mom was reduced to sitting in a wheel chair, laying in bed,or sitting in a mechanical sofa chair the last 2 years of her life. She couldn't walk any longer and had to listen in the meetings over the phone.I remember Elders calling her to ask if she had her field service report and what were the hours she had for the month.( ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING ME! OR WHAT...SHE WOULD BE CONSIDERED AN IRREGULAR PUBLISHER! )
She would have her caretaker ( for the mornings and afternoons) open up a phone book, pick out some names, and dial the number for her.She would try for ten minutes and give up because she was too tired, people would hang up or too many people didn't pick up the phone. She handed in a monthly field service report ( 2 HOURS A MONTH......BUT MORE LIKE 15 MINUTES ) due to fear of the WTS and not Jehovah.THERE IS NO EXCUSE IN JEHOVAH WITNESS LAND FOR REDUCING YOUR MINISTRY!Just look at Paula from Canada who has spina bifida!
THANK YOU BLONDIE FOR YOUR HARD WORK!

Assembly Dramas:They were so bad.... but.... you waited for them to break away from the monotony!
by RULES & REGULATIONS in.
you do remember the four day assemblies... sitting outdoors being fried in the sweltering heat, getting heat stroke in the middle of july in an outdoor baseball stadium.sitting outdoors from 9:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. was so much fun while you wore a suit, long sleeve shirt and a tie while your brain fried.
mom's who had children to take care of,lug strollers, feed all the kids, take them for bathroom breaks and try to not faint from the heat.. the sound and audio was always breaking and barely audible from the wind, airplanes flying over and (if you attended the cicero, illinois circuit )you would smell horse manure from the horse stables next door.. you know that you are a jehovah's witness.... when the only excitement waiting for the drama... where brothers and sisters dress up in ancient cloths, fake beards, fake rocks and fake soldier uniforms and wave their hands incessantly to pretend that they are acting out a drama.the excitement was unbearable!.

I found this photo on Pinterest which shows exactly what was served at our summer conventions in Cicero,Illinois. Here, you have your food tickets, danish,Shasta soda, pudding cup, fruit bag,and your ''hoagie sandwich.'' Can someone tell me what the sandwich left of the sub sandwich is? It looks like an Arbie's roast beef sandwich but don't recall ever seeing one at our summer conventions!

Do you remember the tickets you would have to purchase to eat lunch? And that they served submarine sandwiches, danishes and shasta soda? And,how you were left with tickets because you didn't have enough to purchase the cheapest item on the menu?

exjwlemming2 hours agoI remember the assemblies at the Cicero race tracks. They were at Hawthorne and a couple across the way at Sportsmen's race track. Everybody had a mad dash to get seats in the air conditioned "Gold Cup room." Attendants, Elders and MS would get in early and save seats for their entourage before the doors were opened. "Looking out for the interest of others before themselves." Right.
My family and all my aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews lived 20 minutes away from Hawthorne and Sportsman Park.We were reminded not to save seats at all the meetings and not place books or magazines on the seats.
We left one hour early every day.By the time you walked from the parking lot to the stadium, all the indoor and air-conditioned areas were all taken.Everyone who had connections would already have indoor seating.( WHAT FRICKIN TIME DID THEY GET THERE ) Most seats were saved even after they were told not to save them.We had no choice but to sit outside with no shade. The smell of horse manure coming from the horse barns was unbearable.
To make matters worse, you would see the main speakers coming from the air-conditioned sections. The Overseers and Bethel speakers would walk to the podium with an usher holding an umbrella over their head so they had shade over their heads while we suffered brain damage and heat stroke.
